"...there is never a dull moment."
Will Scarlet, caught in the midst of a fight that is not his own, hears a woman in distress and runs to her aid. When he sees the woman in question, he mistakes her for another, one he arrested days prior.
Meg of Keyworth will do as she must in order to survive. She’s blind, but does her best to hide her disability. When Will drags her through the forest, intent on rescuing her, she stumbles along and tells whatever lies she must — until he discovers she cannot see. Once he feels he has no use for her, he wishes to leave her behind.
As Will and Meg are thrust together, fleeing soldiers and men of the Sheriff of Nottingham, they learn to trust one another, realizing each is the lesser of the evils facing them. Working together, they make their way through the forest. However, when Will is laid low by a wound, Meg does the unthinkable and leaves him. Will, thinking Meg is in need of rescue again, follows, only to be captured by the men she’s with.
If you enjoy a tale with action, suspense, and romance, then What A Scoundrel Wants is the book for you! With sword fights, abductions, and plots afoot, there is never a dull moment. While there are not a ton of love scenes in this book, the ones that are present are spicy and well written. The characters are lifelike and believable, drawing you into their lives as if you were watching a movie. Ms. Lofty has provided a new look at the legendary outlaw, Will Scarlet, one which I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
