"I would liked to have seen more interaction..."

Trigger Effect is one of those books that I started reading, put down for a while but then picked back up and got totally caught up in. I think you have to be in the mood for a good hunt. That’s how I felt about Trigger Effect. As I was reading the words, I felt like I was hunting the criminal along with Paige Carmichael who is the heroine of this thriller. Paige is searching for an escaped serial killer who is also after her. Paige uses Forensic Statement Analysis to help her locate criminals. Be careful what you say and how you say it, because someone could be analyzing it!

Trigger Effect is more about the criminal than about the relationship between Paige and her temporary partner Nate McCall. That was a bummer. I thought there should have been more substance between these two characters since they were the main characters in the book. I would liked to have seen more interaction between them.

Nate McCall is the perfect partner for Paige though, because he didn’t let her feel sorry for herself. Not that she did much of that anyway. Nate suited Paige because they were both so darn stubborn. Trigger Effect would make an excellent TV drama.

I liked the ending of the book. Of course, I can't tell you what happened, or it might spoil the book for you, but Trigger Effect is worth reading if only for the ending!

Book Description for Trigger Effect

A joke. That's what most cops think of me, an expert in Forensic Statement Analysis. I catch criminals by what they say?and, more important, what they don't. The science of language and double meanings fascinates me, and if that makes me a nerd at the police department, I can live with it. Even suffer the contempt of hot homicide cop Nate McCall. But an odd statement from one of Oklahoma City's finest has triggered my suspicion?his words ring of murder. And proving it could silence me forever...

Part of the LINE OF DUTY continuity. "Where peril and passion collide."
