"...can't wait to read more..."

Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee had not seen a homicide in a long time and the townspeople were in shock when one of their young women was hung on a makeshift alter and cut from sternum to pubic bone.

Genny Madoc saw it all in her visions and now it has drained her to the point where she has to call for help. Jacob Butler, the sheriff of the town and Genny's cousin, goes to her and later finds the body of the first victim. At the time they had no idea there would be more. Jacob decides to call in the FBI on his own and against the wishes of the other lawmen because he knew he couldn't handle this type of investigation on his own.

Dallas Sloan, a FBI agent, has been following a serial killer for the last eight months when the call comes in from the small town nestled into the mountains of Tennessee. Dallas knows this is his killer and that he must go and help stop the madness.

When he arrives during a horrible snow storm, he's drawn to a house without knowing what lay inside was his destiny, Genny Madoc. Sloan is a skeptic and doesn't believe in all this mum-bo-jumbo of the sight or anything he can't see or feel, so he's dumbstruck when she comes to the door and basically tells him she had been expecting him. The winds of fate swept them together and Dallas Sloan was going to try with everything he had to push it away.

The murderer has eluded police and FBI, traveling from state to state, and knew that they (law enforcement) couldn't figure out the method in the madness. However, the time was approaching to finish the project.

During the search for the muderer, Genny and Dallas' attraction grows stronger. When they're alone, the passion builds between them until it's almost unbearable. And, through it all, Genny has kept a secret causing questions to arise. Would all their hard work be for nothing? And, would they be able to stop a crazed murderer before one of them became the next victim?

The passion in this story was great. And, the story is good throughout the entire book. Though toward the end, I did feel as if I was being rushed to finish it. The sex was a good part of this book and the main characters felt strong passion that could be felt while they were together, so that was great also. This was the first book I've read by Beverly Barton, but it will not be the last! I'm already reading the second in this trilogy, and can't wait to read more about the little town in Tennessee and Dallas, Genny, Jacob, Jazzy, Ludie and Aunt Sally!
