No matter how we think our life is going...good or bad...there's always something that can come in and mix it up. Just ask Elizabeth Stevens. A year ago, on her birthday, her husband leaves her for another woman. And now, on her thirty-fourth birthday, when she's just about to bake the wedding cake for her ex's wedding to the other woman, she receives the best birthday present of all from her wacky, but good-intentioned grandmother. A gypsy gift that will allow her to put A TASTE OF MAGIC into her baked goods.
Starting with her ex-husband the fun of seeing her magic at work begins, but it doesn't stop there. Everyone will get a taste of her magic! Elizabeth sprinkles a little wish into her best friends' food, the hunky cop/next door neighbor, her sister's dirtbag of a boyfriend, and others in her life until she finally accepts there are responsiblities tied to every gift.
Our heroine, Elizabeth is a creatively written character who is reminiscent of your average woman trying to make sense of her life after marriage, and ultimately working her way back into the dating world. Her "hero" (or her hero at the end) was the very sexy cop who just happens to live next door. From their first meeting we know those two should be together even as Elizabeth experiments through other dates.
Tracy Madison's, A Taste of Magic, is a quirky, fun-loving magical tale that leads us through the lives of one woman as she recieves her family gift. Fans of women's fiction will definitely enjoy this story, as would other serious romance fans who don't mind the heroine being with other men before she accepts her destiny with the hero.
