"I really liked this book..it has action, romance, sex and violence."
Angel Baker lives in Chicago in the year 2100. She has shrugged off the family business—fortune telling—and opted to be a Retribution Specialist, which means she kicks butt and takes names.
When she was a little girl her real mother was taken to jail, and Angel was put into foster care. The first home was abusive, but finally after having some problems, she went to live with a good family. Lola, her birth mother, would not let them adopt her so she has a soft spot for abused women and children. Lola, the fortune teller, gets into trouble with the Russian Mafioso and goes missing and there's a dead body left in Lola's apartment.
Marco is a detective with the police force in special cases. He's a smooth looking man with a beautiful smile and he's a bit gruff with Angel.
But now in 2100, you have to have a license to smoke, to work, and to even have sex so if your caught doing any of those things your in trouble without one. The police force is trying to get the Retribution Specialists to stop doing their jobs so they're rally against her and her kind. Marco wants to help her realize her gift, a gift that she really doesn't want. But, when her mother is kidnapped and some full blooded Chinese girls are kidnapped, Marco is looking for all the help he can get even from Angel.
I really liked this book. It has action, romance, sex and violence. Angel doesn't trust anyone and hasn't had a "real" relationship with a man in some years. But she does have an Auto Mate, a robot that makes her happy and looks like Bogart. She is a petite woman who takes care of innocent people by capturing those who wronged them, and turns them over to the people they wronged for justice. Marco is looking for Angel to help him figure out why his brother died and he falls for her in a hard way, and she falls in love with him too. There are bullets that make you melt, and a gun that gives you radiation poison, and a place within the police force that helps you realize your psychic intuition. This is definitely a sci-fi book with some hot things in it.
