"...another incredible Lucy Monroe read!"

Goodness Had Nothing to Do with It is Lucy Monroe's sequel to Come Up and See Me Sometime. Both of these books take place in the Pacific Northwest and are full of romance and corporate intrigue.

This is Marcus Danver and Ronnie Richards' story. In the first book, Marcus was based in Portland Oregon at CIS and worked with Ronnie for three years until she mysteriously disappeared from the company due to her selling secrets to a competitor. They were once lovers and for macho Marcus, her leaving without a word didn’t sit well with him.

As Goodness Had Nothing to Do with It unfolds, the reader learns that Marcus is now a partner in CIS and has been sent to Seattle to investigate a leak in Kline Electronics. Who should he find working there? Of course, Ronnie, and in a capacity where she has access to corporate information. She becomes suspect number one for Marcus. Angry, hurt and full of revenge, this story begins with sparks flying for this couple.

As the story progresses, one learns that Ronnie does in fact have high morals, that she was protecting secrets from Marcus. Not corporate secrets, but very personal secrets. This storyline quickly becomes complicated and just plain heart-tugging.

Goodness Had Nothing to Do with It is excellent, full of intrigue and suspense, love, and passion. It warms one’s heart. I highly recommend the book and also suggest that if you haven’t read it, you purchase Come Up and See Me Sometime. It’s just another incredible Lucy Monroe read!

Book Description for Goodness Had Nothing to Do With It

Surprise, surprise

The last woman business consultant Marcus Danvers expects to find at Kline Electronics is Veronica Richards. He?s supposed to be rooting out a corporate spy, not rehashing an old love affair--with the woman who sold out the company they both used to work for and then took off without so much as a kiss goodbye. All the clues point to Ronnie as the firm?s newest mole, which means he?ll have to spend time with the stubbornly reticent--and mouthwateringly sexy?woman he hasn?t been able to forget, and uncover every last thing she has to hide...

Fancy seeing you here

It?s just Ronnie?s luck. The one man she?d hoped never to see again is suddenly everywhere she looks--and taking up a starring role in her daydreams, too. Remembering the passion she and Marcus once shared certainly isn?t going to help, though, not when she has so many secrets, and no explanation for the way she left him eighteen months ago--or at least not one he?ll want to hear. The problem is, when Marcus is around all her good intentions go up in smoke...
