Wife Goes On

“…will definitely entangle you…”
Wife Goes On is a story about four women who suddenly find themselves facing divorce and how they accept reality and move forward with their lives. This novel will make you laugh and cry with compassion.
First, you have Diane who is a mother of two. Diane’s husband’s gambling habit has led them to bankruptcy and divorce.
Then there’s Lana who had a very public breakup with her Hollywood husband and ended up having to change her name! Lana tries to remove herself from the public eye by running a furniture store.
Next is Annette who’s a jaded divorce attorney. Annette’s husband leaves her for another man.
And then there’s Bonnie. Bonnie’s a former homecoming queen and mother of two who lives with an abusive husband.
The four ladies meet by chance in Lana’s furniture store and soon find themselves looking to each other for support. It’s through that support that they realize divorce isn’t the end of their lives…just the ones that they knew. And they discover that it can be a chance to move forward and live again.

Taming the Beast
“…heart-wrenching beauty and the beast tale…”
Heather Grothaus’ Taming the Beast is a magnificent, heart-wrenching beauty and the beast tale that will enrich your heart.
There are just two many things I loved about this book to name, so I thought I’d share a few things I didn’t. Like how I couldn’t put it down! I’ve had very few books I couldn’t truly put down and get a good nights sleep, but this one was definitely one of those. You were immediately enthralled by the characters to the point you couldn’t wait to read more.
Another thing I didn’t like was that it made me cry! It takes a very good writer and a super touching story to make emotion well up enough for me to cry over a story in a book. This one has it all. From the heroes plight to the heroine’s heartbreak you can just feel what they’re going through.
Michaela Fortune has a nickname…some call her Miss Fortune. They believe she’s clumsy and not worthy of their time. That is until she befriends the daughter Lord Tornfield and wins his favor in a singing contest. Little does she know that’s the beginning of a life filled with intrigue, misunderstandings, betrayals, and murder. Everything in her life will be turned upside down. And when she’s at her lowest, heartbroken and humiliated she finds herself responding to a summons from the land’s overlord Lord Cherbon. The son of the Cherbon Devil. Rumors say he’s scarred where he once was beautiful. They say he’s just as evil as his father. So what on earth was she doing offering to marry him?

“…a riveting thriller that will hold you captive…”
Blind Consent by Michael Davis is a riveting thriller that will hold you captive from start to finish!
Set in a small, impoverished Shenandoah Valley town, Blind Consent holds you on the edge of the mystical while setting in motion an intriguing plot twisted nicely with a touch of romance. Again I do hesitate to call what Mr. Davis writes romance, but it doesn’t matter because romance readers will not be disappointed by what he has delivered.

We’ve just posted a review of Lori Foster’s latest, My Man Michael. Here’s a snippet…
Jessica S. says:

“…a remarkable journey through self-growth, learning, and compromise.”
Michael Manchester, a.k.a.Mallet, is laid up in the hospital after an accident. His fighting career ended, he’s desolate and unsure of what to do with his life.
Kayli shows up from a time in the future claiming she can heal Michael’s wounds, for a price of course. If he goes back to the future with her and trains the warriors of her colony, she will make him whole again.
Not able to pass up the opportunity to have full use of his legs again, not to mention that he thinks Kayli is a total hottie, Michael agrees – thinking that she has to be joking and he’ll wake up at any moment. Who’s ever heard of traveling to the future? It’s the stuff of dreams, movies, and books, but could never happen in real life. Right?

From time to time, we’re receiving books for review that don’t fit into the “romance” mold that we have here on WeWriteRomance.com. Rather than letting those books go, we’ve decided to “post” the review here rather than in our database. If a book doesn’t fit into one of our sub-genres, it will be posted here on the blog.

One September Morning
About the Book
The moment Abby Fitzgerald sees two soldiers approach her front door, she knows her husband is dead. John Stanton, who gave up his career as a star NFL running back to serve after 9/11, has been killed in Iraq. Suddenly Abby’s kitchen is overflowing with casseroles brought by the army wives’ club to which she has never really belonged. And her in-laws arrange a lavish funeral at Arlington National Cemetery, in spite of Abby’s misgivings. John had grown to hate the war even though he loved his country, and Abby can’t reconcile the complex man she knew with the version being portrayed by self-serving politicians, military, and the media.
Shell-shocked, Abby strives to cope with her own heartache while comforting John’s loved ones, including his mother Sharice, his staunchly anti-war sister Madison, and his bitter younger brother Noah. But amidst her loss is a growing conviction that the truth about John’s death is far from over.
Review by Marina W.
One September Morning by Rosalind Noonan is a tale of a football star turned soldier gunned down in Iraq by friendly fire. Abby, John’s widowed wife, wants answers from the tight-lipped military who insist John was killed by an insurgents, and his parents want him honored in a hero’s burial in Arlington cemetery. Meanwhile, the real killer, comes home and wants to take over John’s once-charmed life.
This story is written with great insight into military families and the constant struggle between supporting the troops but not the war. Ms. Noonan delivers a fast-paced, character-driven tale with a touch of mystery. This is really a good read and I would definitely recommend it. However, there is no true romance in the story. But I would definitely give it a 3 our of 4 WeWriteRomance stars.
WeWriteRomance’s Review of Lisa Dale’s debut novel, Simple Wishes, is now up!
WWR Reviewer, Alyson J. said:

Simple Wishes
“..definitely recommend this book to any die-hard romance reader.”
Lisa Dale’s debut release, Simple Wishes, is a stunning revelation of how the romance industry has changed over the years, and how an author with the right tools can mold a masterpiece out of what at one time would have been considered two very separate writing genres. Ms. Dale’s skill shines through from page one and doesn’t stop until you close the book.
