I’ve been in a cave, working on the sequel to The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker, my ghostly, gothic Victorian fantasy debut with Dorchester which releases on the magical date of 9-9-09.
“What fortune awaited sweet, timid Percy Parker at Athens Academy? Considering how few of Queen Victoria’s Londoners knew of it, the great Romanesque fortress was dreadfully imposing, and little could Percy guess what lay inside. She had never met the powerful and mysterious Professor Alexi Rychman, knew nothing of the growing shadow, the Ripper and other supernatural terrors against which his coterie stood guard. She knew simply that she was different, haunted, with her snow-white hair, pearlescent skin and uncanny gifts. I’m coming out of my cave because I just have to share my cover, because I love it.
A good cover can be hard to come by, much less one that resembles and speaks to the mood of your book. This hits all the right glowingly ghostly, supernatural points, while maintaining the atmosphereic and magical quality that my characters bring with them to the page. I truly couldn’t be happier.

Before I go back to my cave (I am dearly enjoying writing this sequel) do please tell me, authors, what are your best (and perhaps worst) Cover art stories? Readers? What have your favorite book covers done to lure you in?
