Today is the day so many of my dreams come true. My paranormal romance novella, The Price of Freedom, releases with Carina Press. Its hero is Rafe, a gorgeous djinni–think desert sheik with angel powers, bound to the service of humanity. So I thought I’d ask:
What are the three wishes you don’t dare wish? the dreams that you’re too sensible or too shy to indulge? If Rafe could grant your wishes, what would you ask?
These are my I-don’t-believe-they’ll-ever-come-true dreams.
1. To have a conversation with an alien.
I’d like it to be a friendly alien, though I don’t mind if it has tentacles or burps rainbow bubbles. I’d just like to know if humans are alone in the universe or if there’s a galactic community out there, waiting for us to grow up.
2. I want to travel around the world with a courier.
The courier’s the catch. I want to travel with someone who can handle the languages, my luggage, security (so that I can visit dangerous, exciting places but be safe), time zone calculations and meeting people–I’m a bit shy. Enthusiastic, friendly, but shy.
3. Look at me, I can dance!
It would take a djinni to grant me this wish. I dance like an off-beat robot. As a kid I’d be told off because instead of listening to the music, I just counted the steps. In retrospect, it was moving my lips as I counted that gave me away. Still, it would be lovely to have the grace and energy (oh yeah, exercise ::shudder::) to dance.
So tell me, what are your impossible wishes?
Jenny

Jenny, I’m petrified just thinking about aliens. You’ll have to dream alone with that one!
My secret wish is to have an eco-house built to my own spec, on a beautiful site in the open country. How unobtainable and un-PC is that?!
I’m with you all the way on your second and third wishes, though. How lovely to travel without the hassle, and to know that when a handsome man sweeps you onto the floor you’ll be dancing on air, not his toes!
Hi, Jenny!
Thanks for being with us today! I love the your wishes idea. :-)
My wishes would be:
1. That my children were always safe and happy.
2. Time to be flexible so you could slow it or speed it at will (possibly even reverse it!).
3. To be able to control all the parts of life that you have no control over.
These are probably as far out there as could be, but that’s what they call them wishes for, right?
Again, thanks for being here!
3.
Your book sounds interesting! Wishes are fables, right? Okay, in the spirit I’ll say that I’d love to meet any famous person I respect without all the bells and whistles; have as much money as I need at any given time; and have the ability to not worry over anything I didn’t really want to worry over.
Life is too short to wish it away! So I’ll start with the ageless classic of wanting a money tree. In this economy, that might just be what I need!
I’d really like to fantasize that when I see a new style in a magazine that I like it would fit and be in my closet (which of course would have to be big enough to fit a lot of clothes!).
Which leads me to the dream house that I’ll never tire of.
Hm…like the sound of a sheikh with angel powers.
I think I might have to “borrow” some of your wishes :) an eco house, flexible time, a money tree (could lend it to the President, hmm?) and a magic closet–will the closet include shoes? Shopping for shoes is my secret hate. Nothing ever fits.
Thank you Christina, Heather, Zara and Karen for sharing this magic day with me. The release of my book with Carina Press really is like the granting of a wish :) So much happiness
