I read and write erotic romance, and although I don't mind if some people know, there are some people I don't tell because they are super religious or because it feels awkward to discuss it (like my mother). I agree that I don't really want my close relatives to read my erotic stories, it just weirds me out a little bit. I don't want to think about them sexually or have them think about me that way. It is funny that you say you used to earmark the pages of the "hot scenes" in Harlequin and Silhouette books when you were a kid so you could reread them, I did the exact same thing, starting at about 12 years of age. I was lucky because my girlfriends had to hide the romance books from their parents, but that was one thing my mother never cared about me reading. Great post!
